Sumo Rex - Excitement in Sight and Sound!

Sumo Rex is The Shanes’ own non-commercial label.

 

It was founded in 2005 because the members of the band were no longer satisfied with the work of other labels. With their DIY label the musicians took charge of marketing and promotion themselves, with the result that the first album released by Sumo Rex, "Pölka", has since been the best-seller (currently sold out).

 

Sumo Rex is not so much concerned with promoting certain styles of music as with representing artists who go beyond a given genre to offer a concept that is out of the ordinary and who can draw audiences through their presence and charisma.

 

So far Sumo Rex has released recordings by The Shanes, Ivan Ivanovich & The Kreml Krauts and The Cherrypops and is now planning to release the album "Vintage Hedonist" by Kornelius Flowers and a reissue of the Shanes classic "Pölka" (remixed etc.).

 

With Broken Silence and Cargo Records as partner Sumo Rex has access to a wide distribution network.

Als Label ist Sumo Rex nicht nur mit Tonträger-Vertrieben vernetzt, sondern hat auch ein breites Netzwerk an Partnern, welche die Künstler in allen weiteren Belangen unterstützen.

Sumo Rex arbeitet mit Promotion-Agenturen, Fotografen, Textern, Web- und Grafikdesignern zusammen und ermöglicht den Künstlern so mit professionellen Fotos, Texten, Webseiten, Cover-Designs aufzutreten und mit ihren Veröffentlichungen die Aufmerksamkeit von Radio und Printmedien zu erzeugen.
